Port St Lucie, Florida Margaret Irene (Mundis) Strayer, 92, passed away at 5:15 p.m. Thursday, June 28, 2012, at Life Care Center in Port St Lucie, FL. She was the wife of Edwin R Strayer who passed away in 1991. Margaret was born June 2, 1920, in York County, PA and was the daughter of the late Irvin and Carrie (Gruver) Mundis. Margaret was a member of First Congregational Church of Port St Lucie. Margaret was proud to have been one of the Emigsville, PA girls, and sustained many lifelong friendships with childhood friends and family. Margaret was a beautician for many years in the Emigsville area as well as Hollywood, FL. She had a lifelong love of music and was the church organist and choir director at Otterbien United Methodist in Emigsville, PA. After moving to Florida she was the substitute organist at Sheridan Hills Baptist Church in Hollywood, FL. After retiring from being a beautician, Margaret embarked on a new career of selling organs in the Hollywood Fashion Mall. Margaret loved playing in the mall and meeting people. Margaret was a real people person and never met a stranger. She continued her love of music after retiring and moving to Port St Lucie, FL where she led the Choraleers a music group in Spanish Lakes Golf Village. The group put on many shows and was a large part of her life with many great memories. Margaret is survived by her son Edwin I of Port St Lucie.; one grandchild, Justin C of Killeen, TX. Margaret’s sibling, William F. Mundis resides in Vero Beach, Florida. She is preceded in death by her sisters, Anna Wallace and Mary Ruby. Funeral InformationRelatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral service which will begin at Yates Funeral Home in Port St Lucie. Viewing will be from 9 to 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home service will follow. Burial will be in White City Cemetery in White City, Florida. Officiating at the service will be her pastor, the Reverend Ken Frey from First Congregational Church of Port St Lucie.
