Addie James "A.J." Brown

October 23, 1947 - December 24, 2009

Addie James “A.J.” Brown, 62, of Fort Pierce, Florida passed December 24, 2009 in Fort Pierce. Mr. Brown was born in Halifax County, Virginia and was a 25 year resident of Fort Pierce’s South Beach. He was a Hook and Line Commercial King Fisherman and a member of Pipe Fitters Union Local #150. Mr. Brown was a member of Crystal Hill Baptist Church in Halifax County. He was a decorated Veteran of the Viet Nam War, serving with the United States Army.

Survivors include his son, Landon Scott Brown of Atlanta, Georgia; one grandchild; one sister, Gayle Brown Duncan of Nathalie, Virginia; and Sherry Horton of Fort Pierce.

Mr. Brown is preceded in death by his parents, Addie Lee Brown and Lurlean Gosney Brown; son, Lee Ashley Brown and sister, Amy Brown Barnhart.

Funeral Information

Friends may call from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m., December 30, 2009 at Yates Funeral Home, Fort Pierce.

A Funeral Service will follow at 4:00 p.m. in the Funeral Home Chapel.

Burial will be in the Catawba Baptist Cemetery, Nathalie, Virginia.
