Larry Wilba Newbern

Larry Newbern, 70, died January 28, 2010 at the Treasure Coast Hospice in Fort Pierce, Florida. Born in Live Oak, Florida, son of Wilba And Allie Newbern, he had been a resident of Fort Pierce for almost 60 years. Mr. Newbern was an Over the Road Truck Driver, a former Reserve Officer of the Saint Lucie County Sheriffs Department and he was affiliated with the Salvation Army Church.

Survivors include his wife of 29 years, Barbara Newbern ; 3 daughters, Katherine Newbern of Alabama, Ann Marie Green of Fort Pierce, Robin McClincy of New Jersey; 4 sons, William Newbern of Port St. Lucie, Florida, Patrick Newbern of Port St. Lucie, Lee Slingwine of Delaware, Steven Slingwine of Port St. Lucie; his twin brother, Harry Newbern of Fort Pierce; 2 sisters, Ann Radlein of Cocoa Beach, Florida, Faye Higgs of Florence, South Carolina; 17 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

Mr. Newbern was preceded in death by a son, Edward Painter.
