George A Gray, 92, died November 20, 2009 at AbbieJean Russell Care Center in Fort Pierce, Florida. He was born in Blackville, South Carolina to George A. and Ada Pearl Gray on June 02, 1917.

He was an Owner/Operator of his own Over the Road Truck for Hire, his entire life. He brought his wife and three sons to Fort Pierce in 1952 and lived there prior to retirement in 1982. He and his wife then moved to Okeechobee and Highlands County. They returned to Fort Pierce in 2001.

He was of the Baptist Faith.

He was a true legend of the road as told by his trucker friends.

Survivors include his sons, George “Eddie” Gray, W.R. “Bill” (Sybil) Gray; daughter in law, Patti Lee Gray, Many grand and great-grand kids and relatives in South Carolina, Wisconsin and Florida; sister, Grace Johnson of Macon, Georgia; sisters-in-law, Evelyn Gray of Beaufort, South Carolina and Edna Gray of Fairfax, South Carolina.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Martha Washington Gray, son, Marion Dwight Gray of Fort Pierce; brothers, Alymer, Marion and Patrick; sisters, Davene Abel, Runell Mizell and Betty Jane Pregnall of South Carolina.
