Margaret Rutherford Howie Evans, 81, died March 8, 2010 at a local hospital. Born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, Margaret grew up in Cordoba, Argentina; she lived in Lima, Peru with her family, and then moved to Cali, Colombia, before moving to Hyderabad, India and finally moving to Antigua, Guatemala. Margaret was an elementary school teacher for most of her life; she also had a love for weaving. Mrs. Evans, for about five years, was an interpreter for volunteer doctor groups in Guatemala. Survivors include three sons, Stuart Evans of Fort Pierce, Florida; Jamie Evans of Buenos Aires, Argentina and Michael Evans of Bogota, Colombia; one daughter, Alexandra Hagler of Chugiak, Alaska; and one brother Desmond Howie of Cordoba, Argentina and five grandchildren, John Evans of Greensboro, North Carolina; Vanessa Evans of Phoenix, Arizona; James Evans of West Palm Beach, Florida; Andrew Evans of Olivet, Michigan and Kristie Evans of Bogota, Columbia. Margaret is predeceased by her husband of 40 years, David Ashforth Evans.
