Ronald "Ronnie" Adene Gillis

Ronald “Ronnie” Adene Gillis, 70 of Fort Pierce, Florida died October 4, 2011 at his home. Mr. Gillis was born in Glenwood, Georgia and was a former resident of Boynton Beach and Titusville, Florida.
He was a graduate of Dan McCarthy High School, class of 1959. He attended Indian River Community College and Barry University. Mr. Gillis was a graduate of Jones Business College with a A.S. degree. He retired from Florida Power and Light as a supervisor after 37 years service. Mr. Gillis was a real estate agent with All Florida Realty in Port Saint Lucie and a member of Saint Lucie County Board of Realtors.
He served in the United States Army from 1961 through 1964.
Memberships include Fort Pierce Lodge #87 F. &A. M., Scottish Rite Bodies, Valley of Lake Worth, Florida Sheriff’s Assoc., American Legion Post 40, and B.P.O. Elks #1520.
Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Barbara Guard Gillis of Fort Pierce; daughter Tonya Gillis Kasse of Lawrenceville, Georgia; and son, Shannon Keith Gillis of Boca Raton, Florida.
Mr. Gillis is preceded in death by a son, Ronald David Gillis, brother Carson Oris Gillis and his parents, Norman W. and Roberta Lord Gillis.

Funeral Information

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m., October 11, 2011 at Riverview Memorial Park with Rev. Craig Bridgers officiating.
