Janette G. Severson

Janette G. Severson, 79, passed away peacefully on August 6, 2010. She was born on March 30, 1931, to Agnes and Francis McAulay and raised in Newton Mearns, Scotland.She was predeceased by her husband, Karl Severson; two children, Glen and Karin; her mother and stepfather, Agnes and Gerald Manley; and her brother, Graham Mc Aulay. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Steven & Patricia Severson of Castle Creek, NY; her grandson, Christopher of Lockport, NY; her brother and sister-in-law, Jack & Sally McAulay of Pt. St. Lucie; her brother and sister-in-law, Ronnie & Jean McAulay of Auchinleck, Scotland; her sister, Margo of Melbourne, FL; and a close cousin, Eileen (and Ron) Vergoz of Lake George, NY. She is survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and their families. Janette also leaves many friends whom she cherished and valued. Janette and Karl lived most of their married lives in Huntington Station, NY, and moved to Pt. St. Lucie in 1974. Janette was a homemaker and also worked at many different jobs, her favorite being a nurses's aid after moving to Florida. Over the years she enjoyed gardening, needlepoint, and decorating her home. She was very proud of being Scottish. Her family especially wishes to thank Evelyn Morrow, her caregiver for many years, for her love and support, as well as the many friends whose presence brightened and enriched her life.

At Janette's request, a private graveside service will be held on Long Island at a later date.
