Emilie Heckel

Emilie Heckel, age 101, of Port Saint Lucie, Florida passed away April 13, 2012 at a local hospice facility. Mrs. Heckel was born in Austria and came to Port Saint Lucie from Maywood, New Jersey in 1945. She was a home maker and a member of Saint Lucie Catholic Church, Port Saint Lucie.

Survivors include her two daughters, Joan DeGroot of Sparta, New Jersey and Diane Hendrix of Wellington, Florida; son, John W. Heckel of Port Saint Lucie; six grandchildren; thirty-four great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband, John George Heckel.

Funeral Information

A visitation will be held Tuesday, April 17, 2012 from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at Yates Funeral Home, Port Saint Lucie followed by a prayer service at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow at White City Cemetery, Fort Pierce, Florida.
