George B. "Papa" Wilson

George B. “Papa” Wilson, 82 of Fort Pierce, Florida passed away October 24, 2011 at his residence. Mr. Wilson was born in Fort Pierce and was a lifelong resident. He was a graduate of Fort Pierce High School, class of 1947 and served with the United States Army. Mr. Wilson retired after 25 years as traffic manager of TreeSweet Products, later he was employed at the Saint Lucie County Tax Assessor’s office. Mr. Wilson was a 60 year member of Fort Pierce Lodge #87, F. & A.M. where he served as Secretary for 25 years. He was a member of Fort Pierce York Rite Bodies, Scottish Rite Bodies, Valley of Lake Worth, Amara Shrine Temple, Eastern Star and Demolay.

Survivors include the mother of his children, Joyce M. Wilson of Fort Pierce, FL; four daughters, Sandy Wilson of Fort Pierce, FL, Sylvia Barber of Temple, Texas and Becky Wilson of White City, Fl, Jennifer Maltbie of Port Saint Lucie, FL; five sons Michael Wilson and Mark Wilson both of Fort Pierce, FL, Myron Wilson of Temple Texas, Mitchell Wilson of White City and Jeff Maltbie of Port Saint Lucie, Fl; fifteen grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; six sisters and one brother.

Mr. Wilson was preceded in death by his daughter Kelly Illene “Duck” Wilson, brothers Myron J. Wilson and Wade H. Wilson and sister Sallie Wilson.

Funeral Information

Graveside service will be held on October 27, 2011, 10AM at White City Cemetery. Arrangements by Yates Funeral Home and Crematory Fort Pierce, FL
