Theodore "Ted" HochDecember 20, 1931 - March 20, 2012 Theodore "Ted" Hoch (Tuvia Naphtali ben Elia)
Theodore (Ted) Hoch (Tuvia Naphtali ben Elia) passed away March 20th the 27th of Adar. He was born in Bronx, New York to Albert and Miriam Hoch (both from Dinov, Poland) Husband to Janet of 52 years, father to Mark of Asheville, North Carolina and Dov of Ra’anana, Israel. Grandfather to Ariana; Yehonatan – his God-son born in Jerusalem. Tal – named after his father Al (Elia) and Ori – born at the same time as his grandfather on Hanuka. Graduate of Rutgers University and Cornell University Veterinary Medical School. Ted worked as a veterinarian for over 46 years, served many years at Guiding Eyes for the Blind and on 911 cared for the rescue dogs at Ground Zero. He was a long time Rotarian and Paul Harris Fellow, and most recently volunteered helping the animals at Creature Safe Place in Port Saint Lucie and writing his Creature Feature column in the Cascadian. He retired in 2004 to the Cascades in Port Saint Lucie. We will greatly miss “THE GENTLE DOCTOR.” Funeral InformationA gathering of friends and family will be from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m., March 22, 2012, at Yates Funeral Home Port Saint Lucie. A funeral service will follow in the funeral home chapel at 2:00 p.m. with Rabbi Arthur Rutberg officiating. Burial will follow at Beth El Memorial Park, Fort Pierce. Following the burial there will be evening prayers at the Beth El Synagogue in Port Saint Lucie. The Family will be sitting Sheva at their home in the Cascades: 349 Spring View Loop; Port Saint Lucie. For Seven Days – not on Shabbat.
