John R. Axx

John R. Axx, 84, of Fort Pierce, Florida passed away at his residence November 19, 2011. Mr. Axx was born May 26, 1927 in Washington, Indiana. He came to Fort Pierce in 1995 from Miami, Florida. He retired from both the pharmaceutical industry after working 25 years with Baxter Laboratories and was a professor of Business Management at Saint Thomas University for 13 years. Mr. Axx was an Elder and Deacon of Indian River Presbyterian Church, a veteran of World War II serving in the U.S. Army and a past Master Mason.
He is preceded in death by his first wife of 48 years, Alberta Morris Axx and daughter, Mary Axx Fosberry.
Survivors include his wife of eight years, Norma Cassens Axx of Fort Pierce, Florida; son, Phillip W. Axx of Plant City, Florida; ten grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; step-daughter, Catherine Dixon and stepson, Steven Cassens, both of Fort Pierce, Florida.

Funeral Information

A Celebration of Life will be held 2:00 p.m. on November 25, 2011 at Indian River Presbyterian Church with Dr. Dana Allin officiating with a reception to follow at the Church.
