Dr. Earl Kicliter

Dr. Earl Kicliter, 67, of San Juan, Puerto Rico died July 4, 2012 in Puerto Rico. Dr. Kicliter was born in Fort Pierce, Florida. He attended Dan McCarthy High School and was a graduate of Phillips Exeter Academy. He earned a B.A. Degree from University of Florida and then went on to receive a PhD in Anatomy from the State University of New York. He began his career in research at the University of Illinois, Champaign-Urbana. In 1977, he became a professor at the Institute of Neurobiology of the Medical Sciences Campus of University of Puerto Rico. He was a Fellow with the American Association for the Advancement of Science. His research on the Visual system was published in numerous peer review journals. His scientific laboratory guide will continue to be used at the Medical School, University of Puerto Rico. Dr. Kicliter was a certified Real Estate Appraiser. He was a member of Rotary International in San Juan and a supporter of the Museo de Arte de Ponce.

Survivors include his wife, Dr. Nidza Lugo of San Juan; daughter, Jennifer Kicliter of Fayetteville, Arkansas; brother, John Kicliter of Saint Augustine, Florida; and sister, Cindi Williams of Atlanta, Georgia.

Dr. Kicliter is preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Betty Winn Kicliter.

Funeral Information

Funeral services were held July 6, 2012 in San Juan.
