George “Hip” Hasiotis, 81, of Spanish Lakes Fairways in Fort Pierce, Florida, died December 09, 2009 at the Indian River Medical Center, Vero Beach, Florida. Born in Bridgeport, Connecticut, he had been a Fort Pierce resident for 23 years coming from Milford, Connecticut. A Navy Veteran, he served during the Korean Conflict. He was a Postal Clerk for 37 years in New Haven, Connecticut, until retiring in 1985. He was a former Mason in the Bridgeport Lodge. An avid golfer, he was a member of the Orange Hill Country Club in Orange, Connecticut, where he scored not one, but two “hole in one”. Locally, he was a member of Indian Pines Golf Club, where he also scored a “hole in one”. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Nina Hasiotis of Fort Pierce; two sons, Glenn Hasiotis of Milford, Connecticut, and Chris Hasiotis of Shelton, Connecticut; one daughter, Janet McCarrol of North Haven, Connecticut; & five grandchildren.
