Jack H. Payne

Jack Payne, 83 of Port St. Lucie, Florida, passed away on January 18, 2012 after a brief battle with cancer. Born in Brooklyn, New York, Jack loved life and always sought to help others. Married to Mary Campbell in 1952, they raised their family in Brooklyn and then Pine Brook, New Jersey. Jack was a lifelong worker in the construction industry, serving in product support for a large regional construction equipment dealership, equipment fleet management and then as a heavy equipment operator. He was a passionate gardener and fisherman, later in life serving in prison ministry for the Diocese of Palm Beach on the Treasure Coast and reading/studying his Bible.

Jack was predeceased by two brothers, Rory, of Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania, and Robert, also of Brooklyn.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Mary, of Port St. Lucie; a brother, Dale, of Benton, Pennsylvania; sons John, of Norwalk, Connecticut, and Kevin, of Fort Pierce, Florida; 7 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather and will be sorely missed.

Funeral Information

Visitation February 1, 2012 from 7-8:00PM, a memorial service will follow at 8:00PM, at the Yates Funeral Home in Port St. Lucie.
