Welby Richard "Pop" Black

July 13, 1939 - January 19, 2010

Richard “Pop” Black, Sr., 70, of Fort Pierce, Florida died January 19, 2010 at a local hospital. Mr. Black was born in Fort Pierce and was a lifelong resident. He was a graduate of Dan McCarty High School, Class of 1957 and was retired butcher and a former employee of Inlet Fisheries of Fort Pierce.

Survivors include his daughter, Rita C. Singleton; 6 sons, Rick Black, Charles Black, David Black, Jack Black, Wayne Black and Todd Black, all of Fort Pierce; 24 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters, Linda & Frances; and 1 brother, Lindsey.

Mr. Black was preceded in death by his wife, Susan Brenda Black and a sister, Rita.

Funeral Information

A Memorial Service will be held January 24, 2010 at 3:00 p.m., at Round Island State Park, North A1A, Fort Pierce with Rev. Dave Zoerhoff officiating.
