Harold J. Samsel

Colonel Harold J. Samsel, United States Army Retired, 99, of Harbor Place in Port Saint Lucie, Florida, died April 7, 2010 at Lawnwood Regional Medical Center in Fort Pierce. Born in Brooklyn, New York, he served during World War II with the 117th Mechanized Calvary and was a recipient of the Bronze Star.

He also had a business career, working for 54 years for the Home Insurance Company of New York City and retiring as Executive Vice President.

He was predeceased by his Wife of 54 years, Lucille Samsel.

Survivors include one daughter, Susan Haven of New Jersey; one son, Donald Samsel of Idaho; four granddaughters; & one great-granddaughter.

Services and Interment will be held privately by the family at a later date.
