Joan Elizabeth Beck

Joan Elizabeth Beck, 78, of Fort Pierce, Florida, died March 8, 2010 at the Treasure Coast Hospice in Stuart, Florida. Born in Wharton, New Jersey, Joan and her husband, Dick raised a family in Succasunna, New Jersey, before moving to Barnwell, South Carolina for 16 years, then finally retiring to Fort Pierce in 1995. Joan was an executive secretary for most of her life; she was also a devout member of Saint Mark’s the Evangelist, Fort Pierce.

Mrs. Beck is survived by her husband of 56 years, Richard “Dick” Beck of Fort Pierce, Florida; two daughters, Cathy Ann Spotts of Pembroke Pines, Florida and Susan Marie King of Seneca, South Carolina; two brothers, William Skewes and Richard Skewes both of northern New Jersey; two sisters, Mary Lopes and Shirley Lowery both of northern New Jersey, and three lovely granddaughters.

Joan was predeceased by her sister, Dorothy Nametko.

Funeral Information

Friends may call Thursday, March 11, 2010 from 7:30 p.m. until 9:00 p.m, at The Yates Funeral Home, Port Saint Lucie Chapel.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, March 12, 2010 at 10:00 a.m., at Saint Mark’s the Evangelist, Fort Pierce.
