Gladys R. Klambt, 88, of Fort Pierce, Florida, died November 25, 2009 at “The Place at Vero Beach” in Vero Beach, Florida. Born in Chicago, Illinois, she had been a Fort Pierce resident since 1980 coming from Charlestown, Rhode Island. She was the owner/operator of the Ocean House Marina with her Son in Charlestown and also was the proprietor of “Bill’s Place” a family restaurant, also in Charlestown, prior moving to Florida. Locally, she was a Court Appointed Guardian/Advocate for Kids in Saint Lucie County and was a member of the Coast Guard Auxiliary in Charlestown and Fort Pierce Beach for more than thirty years. She was predeceased by her Husband of 51 years, William A. Klambt who died in 2005. She is survived by two sons, Robert F. Hood of Grant, FL & Gary Klambt of Coventry, Connecticut; two daughters, Dona H. Fagan of Barefoot Bay, Florida & Karen Stone of Manchester, Connecticut; ten grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; & 2 great-great-grandchildren.
