James P. Furst

James P. Furst, Sr, 82, of Port Saint Lucie, Florida, died suddenly January 25, 2010 at Saint Lucie Medical Center in Port Saint Lucie. Born in New York City, New York, he was a resident of Port Saint Lucie since 1975 coming from Ravena, New York.

Prior to his retirement in 1975, he was an Engineer for the New York Central Railroad in New York.

He was a Veteran of World War II, serving with Merchant Marine during wartime. He was a former member of Indian Hills Golf Club in Fort Pierce and was of the Catholic Faith.

He is survived by his Wife of 60 years, Patricia J. Furst of Port Saint Lucie; one daughter, Mary Jane Furst of Jacksonville, Florida; three sons, Stephen A. Furst of Mulberry, Florida, James P. Furst, Jr. of Fort Pierce, Florida, & Gregory V. Furst of Ravena, New York; two sisters, Lucretia Furst of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, & Margaret Keeler of Ft. Pierce; five grandchildren; & seven great-grandchildren.
