Joan Marie Stahlak

Joan Marie Stahlak, 79, of Port Saint Lucie, Florida passed away May 27, 2012 at Treasure Coast Hospice, Stuart. Mrs. Stahlak was born in Chicago, Illinois, moving to Fort Pierce, Florida in 1970 from South Holland, Illinois. She was a resident of Fort Pierce for 20 years and a resident of Indian Town, Florida for eight years. With her husband, Frank Stahlak, she was the co-owner and operator of the Edgewater Motel on Fort Pierce’s South Beach. Mrs. Stahlak was an avid boater and fisherman. While in Indian Town she owned and operated a ranch.

Survivors include two sons, Frank S. Stahlak III, and his wife Sue, and Jimmy John Stahlak, both of Port Saint Lucie; one daughter, Karen Marie Hart of Corpus Christi, Texas; three grandchildren, Daniel, Nicholas and Alex Nichole; goddaughter, Maureen Kerr of Port Saint Lucie, brother, William “Bill” Jatczak of Port Saint Lucie.

Mrs. Stahlak is preceded in death by her husband, Frank S. Stahlak; brother, Foster Daubenspeck; parents, Foster and Minnie Nauman Daubenspeck.

Funeral Information

The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m., Saturday, June 2, 2012 at Yates Funeral Home, Fort Pierce. A funeral service will follow at 12 noon in the funeral home chapel. Burial will be in White City Cemetery, Fort Pierce, Florida.
