Frances Shearer Cannon

Frances Shearer Cannon, 94, of Fort Pierce, Florida, died December 1, 2009 at her residence. Born in Fitzgerald, Georgia, she had been a Florida resident since 1971 coming from St. Louis, Missouri.

She was a former co/owner of a Formal Wear Store in St. Louis. She was a member of the Community United Methodist Church of Fort Pierce, The Garden Club, The Saint Lucie Community Theater Angel Membership, United Methodist Women, and former member of the Treasure Coast Symphony Orchestra.

She was predeceased by her Husband, Dale R. Cannon, who died in 1971, and her Parents, Frederick & Pauline Shearer.

Survivors include her sister, Hortense S. McMullan of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; two nephews, Ted McMullan of Baton Rouge, Louisiana and Fred McMullan, also of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; one niece, Janice Higgenbottom of Dallas, Texas; & adopted family Rick and Patty Surface of Fort Pierce.

Funeral Information

The Family will receive Friends on December 5, 2009 from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at the Community United Methodist Church, 3114 Okeechobee Road, Fort Pierce, where a Funeral Service will begin at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Melissa Delker officiating.

Burial under the direction of the Yates Funeral Home & Crematory, Fort Pierce Chapel will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Fort Pierce.
